Teddy Bear picnic 2022

Teddy Bear picnic has become another very fun tradition of our school that pupils dearly enjoy. They get to bring their favorite Teddy bear to school and spend whole day having fun – playing games, telling stories and having lunch.

It’s very nice to see not only some new teddies, but also some that have been to picnic two or even three years ago!

Irish dancing

On Friday 10th of June we had Irish Dance show for family members. For many pupils this was their first time showing  what they have been learning and practicing – and for most of them it was also the day they received their first ever Irish dance medal.

We are very thankful to Ruth Hussey, who comes in every Friday to teach Irish dancing to all willing to learn.

Bike week

Thank you to our parent’s association for organizing the local bike ride on Friday last for pupils from third to sixth, with Mark from Mayo Sports partnership and Lucas from Green Schools. They accompanied the classes and thank you to the parents who helped out also.

Heritage walk

Last week we had a visit from Ross Cochrane of Heritage Ireland. Ross gave lessons to each classroom about plant identification, hedgerow folklore, animal behaviour and talking to the trees.  

From youngest to oldest – all the pupils dearly enjoyed different learning experience.
