October

Writer of the week and Dalta na Seachtaine are two walls dedicated to motivate all the pupils. It is an inspiration to not only study to their best abilities, but also stay focused, kind and polite to everyone.

Nearly all arts and crafts lessons this month were spent in Spooky mood. From beautiful textile witches, to gorgeous pencil drawings – big and small hands made sure that we were well prepared for Halloween.

Some experiments in younger class made everyone very interested in science.

The Senior room have been reading Michael Morpurgo’s award-winning novel, Private Peaceful set during World War I. They wrote letters from the trenches detailing the experiences of the story’s heroes Charlie & Tommy. They also learned all about spiders and ancient China history.

One of the most exciting events this month was Maths week. All the pupils loved spending day together not only solving all sorts of Maths problems, but also getting more familiar with their schoolmates.

In preparation for spring – Junior room planted their annual Spring pots. Those will be left alone until it’s time to start supervising the progress.

The month ended with what some would say – most interesting day of the whole school year. Halloween dress up! Witches, clowns, cars, movie characters and more! To quote the parents

“Thankfully it’s only once a year”
